Professor in Educational Psychology and Head of the School of Education at the University of Wollongong
Dr Penny Van Bergen is Professor in Educational Psychology and Head of the School of Education at the University of Wollongong. Her research examines how social relationships and interactions influence cognitive and emotional development. She has a particular interest in student-teacher relationships and in reminiscing conversations across the lifespan. She obtained her PhD from UNSW in 2008, examining how parents scaffold and support children's memory and emotion during shared reminiscing.
